About the Candidate

I have been a life-long member of the Itasca community, having also attended Washington Grade School (now Benson), North Junior High (now Peacock), and Lake Park High School. I played on several team sports in Itasca and was a member of both Cub Scout Pack # 56 and Boy Scout Troop 409, where I attained the rank of Eagle Scout. It was my father who once told me that if I was going to live in this community then I should get involved. Thirty three years ago I was fortunate enough to be appointed to the Plan Commission by past Mayor Shirley Ketter, and in 1993 I was given the privilege and honor of being elected to the position of Village Trustee. My wife Linda and I have been married for over 42 years. Linda has been involved in our community as well. She is a member of the Itasca Garden Club, a Eucharistic Minister at St. Peters, a volunteer at the Itasca Walk In Ministry, the Itasca Food Pantry and has been Chairman of the Combined Church Choir of Itasca since its onset in 1991. She was also elected to the Itasca Park District Board in 1997 and has served as the President of the Itasca Park District since 2003. Needless to say, in our home it is all Itasca, all the time.
